Teachers First Goes from Impact to Sustainability across Egypt
The Ministry of Education and Technical Education is pleased to announce that the Teachers First Program continues to go from impact to sustainability across Egypt. As a foundation layer for teacher’s professional development, Teachers First has been helping to initiate, continue and sustain teacher behavioural change and professional development across 27 governorates through different phases. Teachers, school principals and supervisors go through the CPD phase by taking part in the online associate program “AP”, followed by bespoke workshops and mentoring. They then engage with the ‘SPD’ phase by taking part in Lighthouse Networks. Through the journey that starts and does not end, they are supported by Moderia Agency Networks, the Learning Library, the Technical Help Desk, the Educational Help Desk and Lengo Support Officers.
Teachers First is a ground-breaking program run by Imagine Education (UK) Ltd and the Ministry of Education and Technical Education and is part of the Egyptian Learning Society Program to support Education 2.0 Strategy. A fundamental part of the program is Lengo ©, the behavioural change platform which is used across mobile devices and computers. Figures released by the beginning of November 2019 show an astonishing amount of progress. The total number of engaged members is 855,489, with a total number of Behavioural Change credits of 12,085,077.
On the 10th of November 2019, Teachers First celebrates the fourth anniversary of the largest worldwide CPD program run by and for Egyptian teachers to impact millions of students across Egypt.
